We stayed in a flat on a quiet, green street right in the centre of Zakopane that felt far from the busy parts, even though everything-supermarkets, restaurants, bars-was just a short walk away. The place was clean, with plenty of handy things like a hairdryer and enough dishes, and the owner was great with communication, sorting out internet problems fast and giving clear arrival instructions. Parking was free if we got there early, and being next to a park made it really peaceful.
